Amanda Shaver
Amanda leads the C4ADS Learning Lab, which offers training opportunities in PAI analysis techniques to partners around the world. By increasing accessibility to C4ADS’ methodologies, tools, and data, Amanda helps turbocharge our partners’ analysis to better target illicit actors that undermine global peace and security. Amanda is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
Prior to this role, Amanda was an Analyst on the Environmental Crimes Fusion Cell where she worked with partners in Sub-Saharan Africa to combat wildlife trafficking and led the organization’s outreach and training for investigative journalists on the continent. Before coming to C4ADS, Amanda worked as a Research Associate for the Environmental Security Program at the Stimson Center, a Washington D.C. think tank focused on international peace and security. Earlier in her career, she served in the Office of Vice President Biden, at the U.S. State Department in Rome, and on Capitol Hill. She has also lived in Italy and Indonesia.
Amanda earned her undergraduate degree in International Affairs and Economics and her graduate degree in International Affairs with concentrations in Security Studies and International Development Policy from the George Washington University. Outside of work, she loves to cook and bake for family and friends, attend concerts, and curate her bookshelf with titles she hopes to finish one day.
