While North Korea’s pursuit of illicit nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs presents an existential threat, its sponsorship of criminal networks poses an immediate and very real threat to global security. C4ADS has been a leader in helping identify new methodologies and techniques to expose these networks and help unmask the secretive regime’s key pillars of economic strength.

Currently, in response to the international community restricting its access to global markets and financial systems, North Korea is continuing to develop sophisticated evasion tactics and complex overseas networks to procure goods and raise revenue for WMD development and the enrichment of the Kim regime. C4ADS will continue to conduct detailed studies to map how Pyongyang sponsors commodities smuggling, cybercrime, wildlife trafficking, and forced labor to fund its weapon programs, compromise global supply chains, and violate human rights at an industrial scale.
