Alexandra Stassinopoulos
Alexandra is a Data Scientist on C4ADS’ Wildlife Crime team. She focuses on using data science techniques to support the identification and exposure of illicit trafficking networks. She is particularly interested in the potential effects of large language models, such as ChatGPT, on foreign policy and the identification of illicit international networks.
Alexandra earned an M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. In her master’s degree, she focused on Science, Technology and International Affairs, with a specific interest in cybersecurity, generative AI and elections infrastructure. Previously, Alexandra earned her undergraduate degree in Data Science at UC Berkeley, with a concentration in Law & Society. At Berkeley, she focused on the intersection between data science and law enforcement, including the risks of using predictive analytics for policing and sentencing.
Alexandra has worked at several federal agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security, the Justice Department, and the Office of the Inspector General for the Postal Service. She is excited to combine her technical background with her foreign service degree to support C4ADS’ work.
