Illegal and unsustainable exploitation of the world’s resources threatens global economies, empowers criminal groups in fragile states, supports corruption, and harms local communities. For example, materials harvested by illicit and criminal groups are easily laundered into legal commodity supply chains and purchased by unwitting consumers due to a lack of transparency and traceability.
C4ADS seeks to address this problem by improving transparency and traceability within natural resource supply chains, particularly relating to beneficial ownership, trade relationships, and concession management.
