Ari Bassin
Ari is the Senior Director for Analysis, Strategy and Government Relations at C4ADS. Before joining C4ADS Ari was the Chief of Staff for the US Department of State’s Office of Global Criminal Justice, and served as Senior Advisor to the Ambassador-at-Large on Global Criminal Justice since 2013 where he provided expert policy advice on issues related to justice and accountability for atrocities around the globe. Ari also served as a fellow with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to address foreign policy issues across the Indo-Pacific.
Ari has lived in Asia and Australia and worked for organizations including the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), the World Bank, the International Organization for Migration, and Mercy Corps providing expert technical advice and support on issues related to transitional justice, peace building and conflict mitigation and management.
Ari has taught at Georgetown University Law School and has published on issues related to international criminal law, transitional justice, human rights, and institutional reform. He has a JD from NYU School of Law, an MPP from the University of Sydney, and a BA from Duke University.
