Min Chao Choy

Min Chao is a Northeast Asia analyst with the State-Sponsored Threats Cell. Previously, she covered North Korea as a data correspondent at NK News, an independent media outlet based in Seoul. Her analysis on the DPRK’s economy, shipping fleet, and cyber activity has been cited by the UN Panel of Experts, the BBC, Tech Monitor, and CNN.

Min Chao earned her master’s degree in International Economics and Strategic Studies at Johns Hopkins SAIS, and has lived in China, the Czech Republic, and South Korea. She speaks Mandarin and has an amazing temporary memory for languages, having learned (and promptly forgotten) Spanish, Italian, Czech, Thai, and Korean in classroom settings.
