C4ADS Releases 2025 Annual Report
On March 17, 2026, C4ADS published its 2025 annual impact report.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ‌— C4ADS, a nonprofit with a mission to defeat the illicit networks that threaten global peace and security, is proud to announce the release of its 2025 annual report. The past year brought notable advances in C4ADS’ technical capabilities, partner and audience engagement, and some of the organization’s most consequential analytical work to date.
At C4ADS, our impact is powered by our groundbreaking analysis of emerging threats to global peace and security. From revealing Chinese dominance of Indonesian nickel refining capacity, to exposing the IUU fishing networks that exploit the environment and their workers, to tracing firearms diversion in Guatemala, we created a new perspective and understanding of the issues that matter to our global community.
We traveled to 29 countries in 2025, totaling 540 days in the field working alongside partners, building coalitions, and conducting investigations on critical issues. Our work resonated globally, earning us more than 1,700 citations from major news outlets and trade publications alike — including Reuters, the New York Times, NPR, Bloomberg, and The Washington Post.
We also created a critical space where government, industry, and civil society can collaborate — through hosting 15 public and private events attended by over 800 participants across sectors, and delivering training sessions across 11 countries.
One highlight of the year was the launch of Horizons, our flagship investigative platform. In just six months after taking Horizons public, we onboarded more than 300 global users, granting them access to more than 2.4 billion searchable records.
Coming into 2026, we have sharper tools, deeper partnerships, and a laser sharp focus on our mission — reinforcing our commitment to disrupt illicit and emerging threats wherever they occur.
