Maria spends what feels like most of her time looking after her 124-year-old sourdough starter Languages
Spanish, Serbo-Croatian (BCMS), Python Maria joined C4ADS in 2018 to support research into illicit finance networks in Latin America. During her time at C4ADS, she has also worked on the organization’s natural resources and narcotics trafficking portfolios. Today, she primarily works on counter-corruption efforts in Eastern Europe as a member of the Organized Crime and Grand Corruption team.
Maria received her undergraduate degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She has lived in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she studied Bosnian as a Boren scholar.
